You've probably heard the advice to wear your bulkiest clothing items when you travel to save space in your suitcase. I personally don't like this advice because if you're wearing something big and bulky like a thick sweater you might not be able to take it off if you get hot OR you might be uncomfortable in a small airplane seat if its too bulky. I like to wear more layers so I can take layers off if i need to. so here are some of my favorite travel outfit ideas!
These are some of my go to spring/summer travel fits and sometimes I'll even throw a flannel on under my denim jacket during the colder months.
So here's the formula:
Jeggings/leggings/sweat pants - something stretchy
Comfy top/t-shirt/Tank top
1-2 Layering pieces - chambray top/zip up
Easy to remove flats
I like using this formula because this still gives me more room in my suitcase and the versatility to be comfortable. Plus, if im going from somwhere cold to somewhere hot climate wise (which is usually the case when traveling from Chicago) I can just remove a few layers when I land and not have to worry about completely changing my outfit.
Which outfit was your favorite? Let me know in the comments and don't forget to follow me on Insta! I post more travel outfit ideas in my stories!
Until next time
