Things to do in Chicago in January

Updated: Jan 16

The holidays are over and you might be thinking...now what? Don't worry, I've got you covered!

Igloo dining

Dine in style atop the London House with one of Chicago's iconic views. Open until January 28th, the London House Igloo experience is one of a kind! You'll cozy in your own igloo, accommodating up to six people, making it the perfect atmosphere for fun gatherings with close friends or family, or couples looking for a romantic date night. The rooftop itself boasts numerous photo spots that will keep you in the festive spirit all month long. Book your igloo HERE

Restaurant Week

Maybe I'm biased but Chicago has one of the best culinary scenes in the country and Restaurant Week is the way to celebrate that! The 17th annual Restaurant Week includes over 350 restaurants across the city. If you are a foodie like me, you'll enjoy prix fixe menus from some of Chicago's most revered restaurants for brunch, lunch, or dinner from January 19th to February 4th. Check out the full list of participating restaurants HERE

Kohler Spa

If you're looking to relax and unwind after the holidays the Kohler Spa in Lincoln Park is the way to do it! They provide services from massage therapy and facials to hair, nails, and waxing. Guests can enjoy a thermal spa, Sauna, and plunge pool as well as the lounge and terrace during your visit. This beautiful experience is a bit on the pricier side but you can spend all day using the amenities. Their current services menu features a seasonal CBD-infused pedicure, massage, or body treatment to combat the effects of winter. If you're in the Lincoln Park area they also offer specials on Wednesday from open until close which gives you 20% off 50 or 80-minute services! Check out the Kohler spa HERE

Broadway show

Beat the winter blues to the beat of a musical! Broadway in Chicago is one of my favorite things to do during the winter because 1. it's indoors and 2. what better way to forget about the blizzard outside than to watch Aladdin cross the desert on stage at a legendary theater? (to be fair we've had a very mild winter so far. Knock on wood. So, I can't complain too much) Broadway in Chicago will be home to several new plays next year. Hamilton is here until the end of January but Mrs. Doubtfire, Golden Girls, Pretty Woman, and My Fair Lady all start in February and March! Get tickets HERE

Museum of Ice Cream

The SWEETEST spot in the Windy City! Enjoy a spread of unlimited treats in flavors from across the globe, learn all about the history of ice cream, and play a sensory-satisfying sprinkle pool! They even have giant versions of those super nostalgic pink iced animal cookies! The cafe offers fun cocktails or signature sundaes, and the gift shop has some adorable memorabilia you definitely need to "scoop" up. Get tickets to the Museum of Ice Cream HERE

The Cubs Convention

Happening January 12-14 at the Sheraton Grand Chicago, this convention is so much fun for the ultimate Cubs fan! You can purchase one-day tickets or a weekend pass and get access to panel discussions with Cubs legends, players, and coaches, auctions, player meet and greets, and autograph sessions plus Bingo with Cubs prizes! There are also some really cute things for kids like the Cubs Con for the youth baseball and softball clinic. Get your tickets HERE

Hopefully, that gives you some ideas of things to do in Chicago in January. When the weather is less than ideal and all you want to do is be inside

Until next time

xoxo
